Non-traditional party candidate Nayib Bukele wins El Salvador presidential election on Sunday

The former San Salvador mayor won a plurality of the vote in every department (province). His strongest performance was in the capitol department with 58.2 percent of the vote and his weakest was in the eastern Morazan province with 39.1 percent.

El Salvador requires a candidate win 50 percent plus one to avoid a second round.
